My summary for the book:
Bob is a house dog with a short background on the streets. In a terrible hurricane that changes his life unexpectedly, he must uncover that inner street dog in order to save his friends, Ivan and Ruby. He must also save his family, new and old and become a dog he never imagined he could be. This book was very fun and exciting, and it always had something going on. it was a definite page turner; it also changed my thinking on dogs and what they can do. As a truly eventful book, I would recommend this book for ages 8-12.
The summary from the back of the book:
I’ll always give a dog the benefit of the doubt. Life is short. Play is good. And there are plenty of tennis balls to go around.
Quotes from the book:
“Noise. it’s all noise. Noise that hurts. Noise like a massive truck bearing down on us, the power of its engine, the inescapable wheels, the relentless roar. Nothing to see, nothing to smell. Just the terrible sound of the world disintegrating.”
“Thunder claps. Shutters fly. Windows rattle. Water rushes. Dogs whimper. Cats howl. People yell. And all I can hear is my sister’s voice.”
“Maybe it’s easier to forgive others once you’ve learned how to forgive yourself.”
“When you’ve been through the worst with someone, you appreciate the best.”
